Find a Tiler

TilersForums.co.uk Tilers?

TilersForums.co.uk is the UK’s only independent tile community. Other communities, websites, associations, groups or forums all have a their own reason for being existant which has never been the same as our own.

There are a couple of other tiling training centres that supply tools as part of their business model and use a message/bulletin board as part of their sales tactic to supply more. There is an actual tile adhesive company that has more recently setup a forum (which by definition means ‘open discussion’) that doesn’t allow ‘open discussion’ at all, and only allows debate and advertising regarding their own brand names. We have a couple of other general trade forums that are not specific or beneficial to the tile trade, and we have other suppliers of products and/or services that setup forums thinking they can create trends and win over customers that will send money their way.

TilersForums.co.uk however is really different, and we’re not just saying that, listen to a few of the comments regarding the community from community members when asked on the TilersForums.co.uk Website “What has TilersForums.co.uk done for you?”

the threat of separation from my other 1/2!
seriously though i’ve met some cracking people, picked up loads of useful tips and information(and hopefully passed on some also)

Its introduced me to some excellent tilers from all over the country, improved my technical knowledge and saved me shed loads of money by 1. mistake prevention 2. time saving methods 3.finding the cheapest suppliers.
It also acts as a support network when things go wrong and pretty much any question on any topic tile related or not is answered very quickly
You only have to Look at the range of tilers on here and you can see it offers something to every one

i have learnt alot and its also very good if you come across a problem everyones very helpfull giving fast and accurate advise

God where do I start?

Not only did it put me in touch with Diamond Training where I learnt to basics to start me off on my road to becoming a tiler, But it points me in the right direction when ever I’m not sure on something rather than making it up as I go along.

It also helped me make contact with chris.tiling who I worked for on a swimming pool which won him JOTM back in june(I think). A real taste of what it’s like to work on BIG jobs working as a team rather than a loan ranger.

Not to mention introducing me to loads of punk alternitive band via doug and strummerman on a fri,sat night. Oh and Daves allfull dance rubish. lol

All topped off with vertualy(man that sounds sad) meeting some smashing blokes and a couple of alright lasses that are very passionate about there craft that I never thought could be so enjoyable and exciting.

all the more confidence too with all that information storing going on
great place, bit like a pub really??? anyone agree? lo

Had loads of information and tips, but hopefully have given back what I have taken.

Had some great laughs

I think everything said previous, sums it up for me. I know I’m pretty new on here. But I have met some fantastic talented people. It’s good to be amongst kindred spirits (hope that dos’nt sound to soppy) My only regret is I did’nt find it earlier. Thank you Tilers forum.

it keeps you a head in the game….

so many things change so rapidly in the tiling trade/business that it would be impossible without this forum to keep up.

theres always someone who has experienced something different and that can only benefit us and the standards of the industry……..

thats one thing we all can agree on on here .

Great place for learning and asking questions on subjects that I have been usure of. I truly believe many tilers and diyers are more knowledgable than ever as a result.

In an industry and craft that is not only technical in its execution but extremely dynamic in it’s advancement, I joined a forum for reassurance.

I’ve not only gained the sought after reassurance, but have met (both personally and online) some truly excellent people that have helped me build my confidence, knowledge and ability. I have, also, been able to share work with fellow members and picked up work from the forum.

I would be only half the tiler that I am if it was not for Tilersforums.co.uk .

lots of us tilers are solitary workers or don’t come across other tilers very much,so its good to hear fellow tradesmen points of view and ways of doing similar things, and latest trends in the industries

i find the forum interesting as the way things are done in other country’s different ways different methods diff styles it also helps to learn of new products and methods as for the people on the forum,
there a top notch bunch and deff worth the time

It introduced me to the NETT course, its taken me from zero tiling knowledge to a fair amount (from tools to substrates to prep to materials), and most importantly its given me the confidence and support to tackle my own DIY job, which I would never have even considered doing without it

Oh yes, and its got me commenting on the tiling job of every programme I see on telly, much to the annoyance of my other half

TF gave me access to the information and expert knowledge I needed to ensure I did my DIY jobs properly. Plus it’s taught me how to prepare properly for tiling. But most of all it’s a great community, where I can chat with people from around the world about loads of things including tiling.

well, what aint tilers forums done for me. ive read so many threads, not always posted in them, but read and learnt so many things that i never learnt in my course.

So many kind people on here, been offered tools, some printed polo shirts and a offer of a bit work if it comes up.

this website is the most useful ive ever been on.

So many thanks to all who makes it what it is and gives the help and advice to tilers like me.

well were to start first of all when i joined this forum 2 years ago (seems like only yesterday) this forum gave me the confidence and the advise to set up in business, how to tackle customers, payments, and also to avoid cold callers which i nearly fell for.

also ive met a great bunch of people on here some face to face who are the most down to earth people you could ever meet. It also helped me gain work and most importantly gain new friends.

id also thank this forum for giving me ounces of confidence being a 21 year old starting out was really difficult and no members have ever treated me different due to my age

even though i decided a few months back to go back and sub contract to a firm im happier now than when i was im earning regular money for the time being and im still using all the methods now in any of my work.

i could rant all day to be honest so a big thank you to all forum members

I’ll just do bullet points because I’m knackered and just about to go to bed.

1. TF has made me earn more money by checking out what other tilers charged for similar jobs.

2. TF provides immediate (in most cases) response to questions I have asked. Even when I’m on a job I log in via mobile and get answers within minutes.

3. TF has got me tiling work when I replied to an add in the ‘Im looking for a wall & floor tiler’ section.

4. TF has given me confidence.

5. TF is now part of my job description and is a necessary tool for tiling.

6. TF is a great community that I am proud to be part of.

TF keeps me from my bed and I always wake up knackered after spending too much time looking at interesting threads.

Tiling forum has done loads for me ,i done a 3 week course 2 and a half years ago.For the first 2 years i never had internet access after finding this forum i now feel allot more confidant in what i am doing knowing you have a comunity to answer qustions for you is reasuring and the forum is packed full of relliable information.

I will be perfectly honest (what tilers forum has done for me) is when I’m on a job and scratching my head about how the bast way to approach a certain job. I don’t think to myself I will call a technical help line oh no !!! I think to myself I had better check tilers forum to see if anyone els has come across this issue befor.

And when I have a problem with a customer. I ask peoples advise on how they would deal with a particular problem customer (not that it happens that often) . But we all have them don’t we !!!

I think that TILERS FORUM sorry had to shout it out . Is an invaluble service offering great advise and to top it all it’s completely FREE !!!! win win win

It is also nice to be able to upload your pics and get an honest assesment from other profesionals on your work.

I found the site looking for wet room information and haven’t looked back since.

As a relatively new tiler, TF as been a fantastic place to find answers to questions I have, solutions to problems, methods to ensure problems don’t arise. A technical knowledge second to none, a source of great cost effective tools, insurance and materials. it has given me confidence when quoting and tiling. It allows me to feel safe that I have given the best advice, even if I don’t get the job.

I have met and virtually met some good people and the gallery is an amazing place to look at the work of others with the hopes I can aspire to such consistent quality.

I think the Tilers Forum provides a incredible sounding off and knowledge hub for tilers, retailers and manufacturers of ALL levels and experience

I find the interaction between newbies and lads that have been fixing all their working life very refreshing and would like to think that it is only helping assist in creating a much better impression of our trade to both visiting guests and future customers  At the end of the day if newbies can come on here and pick up better working practices and carry them on into jobs, evrybody is happy – better than self teaching and getting into all sorts of bother lads that don’t listen and know it all will eventually get tiling done away with

For too long there has been an attitude to new tilers and I think this forum has and is going a long way to breaking that barrier down

In addition to this I do, as previously said, find it great to be able to come on and discuss matters with like minded tilers who may have experienced things that I haven’t in the last 20 years, and vice versa, and it’s nice to know I can bounce ideas around without any ‘god did you not know that’ edgy attitude

Nobody knows everything, but everybody knows something

I have found tilers forums a great help in my quest to become a tiler, and to get through other situations and problems not covered on training courses.
Thanks to Dave and Dan and all of you experienced tradesmen, I am getting the job done.

Firstly, hello all again – I have several excuses/reasons for my absence , all of them pretty good ones!  However, that said, it’s nice to see you all again!

What have I taken from here? For me, it has been a good place to “catch up” on what has been happening whilst I have been retired. It has also drawn my attention to my own increasingly noticeable memory loss – you know the old saying; “I have forgotten more than you will ever learn”, that anyone that is time-served will remember from the “good old days” of yore. Well, I can claim now to have forgotten more than I ever learned. This is where I have refreshed some of that long-lost knowledge and, hopefully, passed on one or two things that have helped others a little, before my mind is like the Daily Mail, empty in other words!

Thank you all for your help in my mind quest!

Ciao!

TF Has helped me keep upto date with the everything new in the trade. New ideas and contacts. i have found a lot of work through the website. I have worked woth a lot of tilers from the website too. I have laughed so much at some threads, shocked at others, sped home to read new replies to on-going threads.
I wonder how some of you find time to tile with all the posts you post!
Great site!

The tilers forum is invaluable for any new or inexperienced tilers. For a time served old fogie like me, it is priceless because it helps me keep up with all the changing technology within the tiling industry.

As I’m still very new to tiling I can use tilersforums to search through and find tonnes of info, and if I can’t find what I’m looking for I know I can ask and someone will know the answer.

When you start out on your own it is (was for me anyway) very daunting, but with tilersforums it’s like you’re not on your own. Everyone on here is so friendly.

For me Tilers Forums has been a support network for when I’ve been scratching my head, muttering unmentionable expletives and generally thinking ‘I have no idea how…’ or ‘Is this right….’

Several times since I stared out a builder / plumber / plasterer has questioned my methods or reasoning and having this site as a back-up to throw ideas around or get expert advice has been an absolute life saver.

I’ve also found that the content on TF has helped keep me in the loop, expanded my knowledge base, given me fresh ideas for taking my business forward and given me access to suppliers that I wouldn’t otherwise have used! Cheers Chris

i reckon without this site id be making some foul ups, totally awesome font of knowledge at your fingertips

since i started out ive done around 18 tiling jobs and the info available on hear allows me to talk to customers with an air of confidence

fair play dan & dave for putting your own time into this, steve

tile forum gave me a meaning to my life a new hope for my humanity a search to find my inner peace opps thats yoga or something like that my favorite thing about tile forum is the collective input of so many tradesmen

Professional wall and floor tilers that are listed here have not only been chosen to be listed here manually, they’ve earned the right to be listed here. We know this list will not currently be useful for every town and city in the UK. However, we know that those area’s that are covered by a tiler listed here will definitely by glad they have chosen our tilers.

FindaTiler.net is a free to use service. It’s also free to be listed as a tiler. However, to be listed here you need to prove to other professional wall and floor tilers that your work is A1 and nothing less! – It’s not easy. Out of 11,500 members we have a dozen or two listen here.

We urge you to pay the right price to get one of our tilers to ensure your job is done for life and not just a couple of years. That’s the reason you use tiles, surely? And it’s the reason tilers say ‘when you tile a room it should not only be done right, it should outlive both you and the customer’ to one-an0ther.
